Bert Dennis

Bert Dennis has been part of Victoria's property industry for over 50 years.

He has been an influential figure in that time, serving on Federal, State and Local Government committees and promoting affordability in housing. Bert Dennis has been president of the Victorian and National branches of the Urban Development Institute of Australia and was awarded life membership of both organisations.

He has been a director of the Leukaemia Foundation of Victoria and was the founding President of the Australian Population Institute until December 2004.

In January 2005, Bert was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to the land and housing industry, to the community through his contribution to debate on urban planning and for his support for charitable organisations.

In 2008, Bert was appointed the inaugural Chairman of the Property Industry Foundation (Vic).

In 2010, Bert received the Richard J Evans Award from the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association in recognition for his outstanding contributions to planning in Victoria.

Bert is joined in the company by three of his adult children and several of his eleven grandchildren. The fourth child concentrates on his farming activities.
